IPL Auction 2021 is all set to begin at 3 PM on 18th February 2021. The ceremony will take place in Chennai for the 14th season of the world-famous cricket league. There are a total of 8 franchises in this edition, with a combination of 61 slots left and 292 players to go out for auction. The IPL committee trimmed a massive list of 1114 registered players to a total of 292 players.

The purchase amount remaining for each team will decide which team owners can play a significant role during the auctions.

  • Kings IX Punjab tops the list of remaining amounts with a whopping 53.2 crores in their purse.
  • Rajasthan Royals stands second with 37.85 crores left with them.
  • Royal Challengers Bangalore has 35.4 crores in its purse.
  • Chennai Super Kings have 19.9 crores.
  • Mumbai Indian has 15.35 crores.
  • Delhi Capitals has 13.4 crores with them.
  • Sunrisers Hyderabad and Kolkata Knight Riders both have 10.75 crores left.

Like every edition’s auction ceremony, this year will also be a fun-filled day with lots of surprises to unfold. All the franchises will assemble in Chennai at 3 PM on 18th February 2021 to grab their favorite players.

  • Chris Morris Becomes the Most expensive player in IPL History. Rajasthan Royals purchased The south African All-Rounder for Rs 16.25 crore.
  • Kyle Jamieson (New Zealand cricketer) is the 2nd most expensive player of  Today auction Royal Challengers Bangalore purchased him for Rs 15 crore.  
  • Glenn Maxwell who released by Kings XI Punjab sold for Rs 14.25 crore. He is purchased by Royal Challengers Bangalore. 
  • K Gowtham becomes the most expensive Indian uncapped player of IPL History. He was acquired by Chennai Super Kings for a whopping price of Rs. 9.25 crore.
  • Riley Meredith uncapped Australian all-rounder acquired by kings 11 Punjab for price of Rs. 8 crore.
